What are home inspection forms?

What information will be required?

You will need to provide many details for the home inspection form. These can include your name address, reason for the inspection, when the inspection took place, what the inspection looked at, any places that weren’t inspected, a condition summary and a list of things that need to be fixed.

What other structures will also be included in the report?

The home inspection report will cover many areas of the property. The home inspection report will include many of the separate structures such as the shed, carports, garages and the outside laundries and toilets. It will also look at the condition of the fencing and the paths and driveways that are on the property.

What doesn’t a home inspection report cover?

First of all it should be noted that a home inspection report does not include the pest inspection. While the report may detect the damage of termites or another pest there will be no further information that will be given. It is recommended that you get a pest inspection on top of this report. Furthermore, the home inspection report will not cover electrical wiring of the house, any concealed damp areas, air conditioning, plumbing or any hazards on the property. If you believe this any of these may be an issue then you should get the right person to inspect these areas.

How do you fill them out?

It is recommended that you do not fill out the report on your own unless you are a licensed builder, surveyor or architect. When you are getting a home inspection it is recommended that you hire one of the above people to help you carry out the report and fill in all the necessary information.

What are the standards?

The home inspection reports may differ for each property and photos may be used to assist in the report detailing. The main objective of the report is to ensure that the property is up to the Australian Standard that is set by the government.

Home inspection reports can potentially save you a lot of money but they will also give you a great idea of the condition of the house. The home inspection reports will outline all of the faults of the house so you can be sure that you are buying a house that will not cost you money.
