1.How long have you been blogging for?
Privately I have been blogging since 2002. That’s a blog that will always stay private – it does not make for pretty reading!
I started my current blog, my pretty blog, Diminishing Lucy, in January 2008. And I’ve been at it ever since.
2.What made you decide to start your own blog?
My first ever blog is an online journal of the trials and tribulations of a first time pregnancy.
My current blog was started so that I could plan and become accountable for losing a whole heap of weight…it’s hard to stay a lard-arse when the world can see your every loss and every gain on the scales!
3.How do you enjoy spending your time outside of blogging?
My children take up a lot of my time – they are amazing and I love them to the moon and back. I love to be a mermaid in the swimming pool with them.
Unsurprisingly, considering the weight I still have to lose, I spend a lot of my “me time” on walking and running and swimming. And I have to tell you, it’s not a chore. I genuinely love to exercise.
I am also a chick cricket tragic, and love to watch the game.
4. How many children do you have?
I have three gorgeous children. They are embarrassingly close together. I endured three kids under three years old. But now my eldest daughter is six, my son is five and my youngest is four. They are all at school, so the levels of chaos are reduced.
5.What posts are you most proud of?
The personal ones. The really intimate ones that I would never have had the nerve to hit publish on a few years ago. The ones about my health and my old habits. The ones about addiction , and the ones about choosing to lead a better life. The ones that reflect my world.
6. What do you enjoy blogging about most?
Over the past year I have become involved in the blogging community. That is where the joy of blogging is for me. In the sharing of love, of excitement and happiness. The sharing of frustrations and difficulties. The sharing of comfort and peaceful times. The sharing of pain and grief. I have become close, really close, to so many other women as a result of sharing our lives through blogging.
7. What projects/articles are you currently working on?
I have been invited to freelance as a blogger and as a writer on a few exciting projects. I have requests for guest posts coming from across the whole world, which is amazing.
I have also started to write for a local organisation, interviewing elderly members of my community, as a part of a local history initiative, which is fascinating.
8.What can we expect from your blog in 2011?
I would really like to be able to report more weight loss on my blog, so watch out for that! I am also keen to help anyone else who needs help in getting started and staying motivated on their weight loss journey.
I will continue to share snippets of my world – the good, the bad and the ugly.
I am also planning a blog makeover in June with some huge giveaways.

Lucy was one of my first real online bloggy friends. She brightens my days …
I love Lucy. Really.
I love many of the Aussie Mummy blogs on your list, but Lucy is my favourite. She embodies the warmth and genuineness of the blogging community. And she kicks it at writing!! x
